SHARH OF THE 40 HADEETH: HADEETH NUMBER 38

HADEETH NUMBER 38:

الحديث الثامن والثلاثون
«عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: إن الله تعالى قال: من عادى لي وليا فقد آذنته بالحرب، وما تقرب إلى عبدي بشئ أحب إلي مما افترضته عليه، ولا يزال عبدي يتقرب إلي بالنوافل حتى أحبه، فإذا أحببته كنت سمعه الذي يسمع به وبصره الذي يبصر به ويده التي يبطش بها ورجله التي يمشي بها، ولئن سألني لأعطينه، ولئن استعاذني لأعيذنه» .
رواه البخاري.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Verily Allah ta’ala has said: ‘Whosoever shows enmity to a wali (friend) of Mine, then I have declared war against him. And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more loved to Me than the religious duties I have obligated upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to me with nafil (supererogatory) deeds until I Love him. When I Love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, and his sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him; and were he to seek refuge with Me, I would surely grant him refuge.’"[It was related by al-Bukhari]

This tells you the latter will always show enmity to the former

There are people on earth Allah has chosen to be His friends and allies
-and these are the sincere believers
-Allah said:

Allah is the Wali (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Auliya (supporters and helpers) are Taghut [false deities and false leaders, etc.], they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever. (Al-Baqarah 2:257)

Abraham (a.s) was a friend of Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)
-and Khalid ibn Abdullah al Qasri gathered the people of Iraq for eid
-and said he was going to sacrifice Ja’ad ibn Dirham
-because he claimed Allah did not take Abraham as His friend

'Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Muhammad Ibn Habeeb Ibn Abee Habeeb on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather [who] said: I witnessed Khaalid Ibn 'Abdullah Al-Qasree - and he addressed them at Waasit - "Oh People, make sacrifice, may Allah accept it from you. Verily I am sacrificing Al-Ja'd Ibn Dirham, for indeed he claims that Allah did not take Ibrahim as a khaleel (close friend), and [that] He did not speak to Moosa. Most Perfect is He and exalted is He from what Al-Ja'd says." Then he descended and slaughtered him. I say: And the Jahmiyyah and Mu'tazilah speak with this, and they distort the text of the revelation regarding that, and they claim that the Lord is purified of that (i.e. having spoken to Moses and taken Ibrahim as a khalil). [Mukhtasar al-Uluww of adh-Dhahabi, (p.134)]

Whenever something is mentioned in the Qur'an
-it is called ‘that which is known by necessity’
-so you are not allowed to reject it
-that was why this man's head was chopped off

Muhammad (ﷺ) is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allah is Ever All¬Aware of everything. (Al-Ahzab 33:40)

Allah said in the Qur'an that Muhammad (ﷺ) is the last prophet
-and so this is known of Islam by necessity
-and denying this makes you a kaafir

So Allah had taken Abraham as His Khalil, personal friend

This hadith of today tells you that whenever a person is an enemy of Islam
-this person becomes an enemy of Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)
-so if these kuffaar call it a ‘war on terror’
-Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) said ‘if you declare war on His servants, He will declare war on you’
-so hurricane Katrina was a retribution
-because they sent their kaafir army to Iraq
-on a false dossier

But they are so proud and arrogant they denied it as retribution
-so an enemy of Allah is an enemy of the Muslims and vice versa
-and if you show enmity to the servants of Allah
-He will take revenge on you because He is the protector of His servants

O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Qur'an, and Muhammad SAW), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray, (away) from the Straight Path. (Al-Mumtahinah 60:1)

In many verses of the Qur'an Allah described Himself as ‘Dhoo intiqaam’
-the One who is swift and decisive in His retribution

A foretime, as a guidance to mankind, And He sent down the criterion [of judgement between right and wrong (this Qur'an)]. Truly, those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, for them there is a severe torment; and Allah is All-Mighty, All-Able of Retribution. (Al Imran 3:4)

Retribution means revenge
-Allah said:

...but whosoever commits it again, Allah will take retribution from him. And Allah is All Mighty, All-Able of Retribution. (Al-Ma'idah 5:95)

...Is not Allah All-Mighty, Possessor of Retribution? (Az-Zumar 39:37)

Let's take a look at Islamic history:

The rebels stabbed Uthman (r.a) in his house
-and they cut off the fingers of his wife
-when she tried to protect her husband
-he was 76years old when he was stabbed
-and his blood spilled on an ayah in the Qur'an when they stabbed him

...So Allah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

(Al-Baqarah 2:137)

These people who stabbed him got killed one by one
-you can’t kill Uthman and get away with it
-he was from a very powerful clan
-the Omayyad dynasty

One of them was caught in Egypt and was killed
-they killed a donkey and scraped its inside and stuffed his body inside the donkey

We did the tafseer of surah Yasin in this room
-there was a leper (Habib) who tried all treatments but couldn’t get cured
-the messengers that came to his town cured him and he asked them for the fee
-they told him it is by embracing Islam and so he became a Muslim

When these messengers came to the town to give da'wah Habib came running
-he said to his people to follow these messengers

And there came running from the farthest part of the town, a man, saying: "O my people! Obey the Messengers; (Ya-Sin 36:20)

"Obey those who ask no wages of you (for themselves), and who are rightly guided.

(Ya-Sin 36:21)

"And why should I not worship Him (Allah Alone) Who has created me and to Whom you shall be returned. (Ya-Sin 36:22)

"Shall I take besides Him aliha (gods), if the Most Beneficent (Allah) intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use for me whatsoever, nor can they save me? (Ya-Sin 36:23)

"Then verily, I should be in plain error. (Ya-Sin 36:24)

Verily! I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me!" (Ya-Sin 36:25)

His da'wah was beautiful
-and he appealed to their rational
-but they stoned him to death instead and trampled on his body and burnt his body
-this was the end of this man
-he did not steal their money, cheat on their wives or impregnate their daughters
-all he did was to call them to tawheed
-but they hated him so much to treat him as above

Allah said to him 'enter my paradise'
-and yet he did not bear any grudge against his people

It was said (to him when the disbelievers killed him) : "Enter Paradise." He said: "Would that my people knew! (Ya-Sin 36:26)

"That my Lord (Allah) has forgiven me, and made me of the honoured ones!" (Ya-Sin 36:27)

And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor do We send (such a thing). (Ya-Sin 36:28)

Those who hate Muslims the most are Jews and pagans
-that was why they hated Habib so much

Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikun (see V.2:105),... (Al-Ma'idah 5:82)

It was but one Saihah (shout, etc.) and lo! They (all) were silent (dead-destroyed). (Ya-Sin 36:29)

Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) punished them Himself
-He did not send any Angels to do the punishment
-because an entire township ganged up against one man
-and killed him for believing in Him

Kuffaar like to punish with fire because they worship the fire
-that was why Nimrod burnt Abraham (a.s)

Allah only sent them one blast of shout and they all died
-we related this story to show you when you declare war on Allah (on His servants)
-He declares war on you
-just like the people in this story

THE STORY OF THE PEOPLE OF SALIH (A.S)

They were Arabs living in the outskirts of KSA
-they asked their prophet Salih (a.s) to make a camel come out of the rock
-and this Allah (swt) made to happen
-He made a huge, pregnant, she-camel come out of the rock (bi idhnillah)

The people of Thamud started complaining that the camel was too big
-and was drinking all the water and frightening their animals
-so they plotted to kill the she-camel
-and Salih found out about this plot and he warned them against it
-he told them this is a miracle and the she camel of Allah
-and killing it will bring down the retribution of Allah on you

But the Messenger of Allah [Salih (Saleh)] said to them: "Be cautious! Fear the evil end. That is the she-camel of Allah! (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" (Ash-Shams 91:13)

Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all grades of people, rich and poor, strong and weak, etc.)! (Ash-Shams 91:14)

This made them hesitant to kill her
-but a woman in the town said any man who kills the she camel
-will marry her prettiest daughter
-this made one of the men to strike the she camel and kill it

Prophet Salih (a.s) gave them the tidings of Allah's punishment
-and this made them plot to kill Salih himself, the messenger of Allah
-Allah destroyed them

This is proof that declaring enmity to the servant of Allah makes you an enemy of Allah

The Persian Empire was destroyed by the Muslim army
-the USSR put their trust in weapons and invaded Afghanistan and killed many Muslims
-the British Empire was so huge, nearly 1/3 of the world but where is it today?
-in the dustbin of history
-even Scotland is trying to breakaway

All these empires that rose fell when they declared war on Islam
-the Americans have an empire and they have declared war on Afghanistan and Iraq
-but they will be broken up insha Allah just like the other empires
-Afghanistan will be their graveyard insha Allah

Russia warned the USA not to invade Afghanistan but they did
-because they wanted to play with the fire they were warned against
-they were curious why everybody else failed in Afghanistan
-but a word for the wise is sufficient

This war is the longest war in their history
-even longer then the Vietnam War

IEDs are used to destroy million-dollar weapons of the Americans

So the Americans were told not to go into Afghanistan
-but they went ahead out of curiosity and now they are stuck
-if they leave they taste defeat
-and if they stay they suffer more casualties

The Americans ask, ‘why did our sons and daughters die in Afghanistan?’
-only for the Taliban to declare victory?
-Condoleezza Rice knows nothing about Islam
-she specialized and attained PHD in Communism
-Communism is in the dustbin of history, rendering Condoleezza's expertise useless
-she is jaahil on Muslim's persistence
-she didn't know that Muslim's don't give up!
-ESPECIALLY NOT ON THE PROMISE AND MERCY OF ALLAH (swt)

"O my sons! Go you and enquire about Yusuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allah's Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allah's Mercy, except the people who disbelieve." (Yusuf 12:87)

-In the same way the British Empire is in the dustbin of history
-for declaring war on the people Sudan & India
-because of their many wars against Islam
-likewise the same happened to the Russians
-likewise the same will happen to the Americans

When you smelled the rat that your empire will fall
-you put someone in power to try to clean your image
-but whether you put a White man, Blackman or Chinese
-when the time comes for your empire to crumble,
-you can’t delay it not even for an hour
-because this is the promise of Allah

And every nation has its appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment). (Al-A'raf 7:34)

Allah said:

Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell. (Al-Anfal 8:36)

All you hear in Europe is austerity measures
-and this is because of the ayah above
-those who disbelieve spend to hinder men from the path of Allah
-and this will be an anguish for them and then they will be destroyed

The kuffaar are crying their economy is crumbling
-this is because you are fighting Allah
-because you are fighting His wali

Allah will turn you the kuffaar against each other

The white kaafir is an opportunist
-he uses 9/11 to declare war on Islam
-but Islam is your natural enemy and so you can never defeat it
-Islam stands for everything you are against
-so we are diametrically opposed

When you do the fard, Allah (swt) Loves you
-Sunnah is highly recommended because nobody's fard is perfect

“The first thing the people will be accountable for on the Day of Judgment is prayer, Allah will say to His angels (even though he already knows) : “Look at my servants prayers. Were they complete or not?” If they were complete It will be written as complete. If they were not fully complete Allah will say: “See if my servant has voluntary prayers, If he has them Allah will say: Complete his obligatory prayers shortage with his voluntary prayers.” Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with in the same manner.” [Reported by Imams Ahmad, Abu Dawood, An-Nisa'i, and Al-Hakim]

Human actions are divided into 5 categories:-

1. Fard - If you leave it, you are bound for hellfire

2. Sunnah - You won't be dumped in the hellfire
-but you should be reprimanded
-It will fill the gaps in the shortcomings of your fard

3. Halal – Note that not every Halal is good
-It is halal for a woman to marry her former brother in law
-but it's not a good thing to do
-marrying one brother after divorcing another causes fitna

4. Makrooh - e.g. marrying without chemistry
-or gate crashing a wedding feast, uninvited

5. Haraam - The only haraam that can get you out of the fold of Islam is KUFR AKBAR
-e.g. magic

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If Allah has loved a servant [of His], He calls Gabriel (on whom be peace) and says: 'I love So-and-so, therefore love him.'" He (the Prophet - ﷺ) said: "So Gabriel loves him. Then he (Gabriel) calls out in heaven, saying: 'Allah loves So-and-so, therefore love him.' And the inhabitants of heaven love him." He (the Prophet - ﷺ) said: "Then acceptance is established for him on earth. And if Allah has abhorred a servant [of His], He calls Gabriel and says: 'I abhor So-and-so, therefore abhor him.' So Gabriel abhors him. Then Gabriel calls out to the inhabitants of heaven: 'Allah abhors So-and-so, therefore abhor him.'" He (the Prophet - SAW) said: "So they abhor him, and abhorrence is established for him on earth." [Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, Malik, and at-Tirmidhi).]

Bush & Blair are examples of such people the above hadith is referring to

...When I Love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, and his sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks....

A Muslim who qualifies in the above reference is a Muttaqi
-One day a man ate an apple from someone else’s orchard
-then went to the owner of the orchard to apologise
-the owner of the orchard told him he will never forgive him
-unless he marries his daughter
-and that the daughter was deaf, dumb & blind
-and the man agreed.
-it turned out the daughter was one of the most beautiful girls in Iraq
-and she had all the faculties of sight, hearing & speech

The owner of the orchard stated that she has neither
(i) Heard, (ii) seen, or (iii) spoken evil

-The offspring of that marriage was none other than ABU HANIFA!

Thabit ibn Marzuban grew up to be a God fearing young man. It is related that one day as he walked by the banks of the Tigris River, he found an apple that had floated downstream. Hungry as he was, he picked up the apple and ate it. But then remorse set in. “Who did the apple belong to?”, asked the young Thabit. “I consumed an item without paying for it. How will face the Judgment Day for this forgetfulness?”. He walked upstream along the river bank to find the apple orchard so that he could approach its owner and seek his pardon. He located the orchard and knocked at the door of the owner who was amazed at the honesty and integrity of the young man standing before him, head bowed, asking for his forgiveness. “I will pardon you, but on one condition”, said the owner. “Anything you propose, sir, I will accept”, said the young Thabit, “I am even willing to work for you to pay off the debt of the apple”. “The condition, my son, is this”, said the owner, “You must marry my daughter. She is blind, deaf and dumb. I need someone to take care of her”.

-When Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) refers to his servant's hearing, sight, feet, etc. becoming His
-it's not literal
-It's stating that the person is using his natural senses righteously
-to Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)’s Pleasure

Soofis abuse this evidence to justify their wahdatul wujud (union)
-believing that a man can become Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)
-Union = When a man becomes Allah, he no longer needs to pray,
-because he's so holy
-this concept was introduced by Ibn Arabi - a soofi shaikh

Our limbs will testify against us on the Day of Judgement

This Day, We shall seal up their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their legs will bear witness to what they used to earn. (It is said that one's left thigh will be the first to bear the witness). [Tafsir At-Tabarī, Vol. 22, Page 24] (Ya-Sin 36:65)

-the first limb of our body which will testify against us on the Day of Judgement
-will be our LEFT LEG
-That's the leg which enters first in places like the toilet
-the right leg enters good places first (e.g. Masjid)

Allāh blots out what He wills and confirms (what He wills). And with Him is the Mother of the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz) (Ra'd 13:39)

-Nothing changes our destiny, except our dua:-

Salman (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, ‘Nothing averts the decree except supplication and nothing but piety prolongs life.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/448) No. 2139, Musnad Ahmad (5/280) No. 22466]

-e.g. if it was initially written for you to lose your legs in a car accident
-the power of your dua can annul that

Whenever you make a dua, Allah gives you one of 3 things:

(i) Either Allah gives you what you ask for in the Dunya
(ii) Or in the Aakhira,
(ii) Removes a Calamity

It was narrated from Abu Saeed (RA) that the Prophet (SAW) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any Dua in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his Dua sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.” They said: “We will say a lot of Dua.” The Prophet (SAW) said: “Allah is more generous.”

[Musnad Ahmad (3/18) No. 11149, Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/670) No. 1816, Adaab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari (1/264) No. 710, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba (10/201) No. 29780, Musnad Abi Ya'la (2/296) No. 1019, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (4/337) No. 4368]

THE 5 REASON WHY OUR DUAS ARE NOT ANSWERED

1. WE ARE NOT MINDFUL OF OUR DUTIES TO ALLAH (SWT)

On the authority of Abu Abbas Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) who said: One day I was behind the Prophet (ﷺ) [riding on the same mount] and he said, "O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]. And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried." It was related by at-Tirmidhi, who said it was a good and sound hadith.

Another narration, other than that of Tirmidhi, reads: Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. Recognise and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity. And know that what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you, and what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and hardship with ease.

2. NO SABR

And seek help in patience and As-Salāt (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khāshi'ûn [i.e. the true believers in Allāh - those who obey Allāh with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise, etc.) and in His Warnings (Hell, etc.)]. (Al-Baqarah 2:45)

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Each of you will be answered as long as he does not become over-impatient, saying, ‘I called on my Lord and He did not answer me.’” [Al-Bukhari (6340) and Muslim (2735)]

In a variant of Muslim, “The slave continues to be answered, provided he does not pray for a wrong action or severance of kin, as long as he does not become over-impatient.” It was said, “Messenger of Allah, what is over-impatience?” He said, "He says, ‘I prayed and I prayed and I did not find Him answering me,’ so he stops short at that and ceases making supplication.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2096) No. 2735]

3. IN THE DUA, YOU ASKED FOR SOMETHING HARAAM

...There is no Muslim who does not offer any Dua in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allah will give him one of three things in return...

[Musnad Ahmad (3/18) No. 11149, Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/670) No. 1816, Adaab Al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari (1/264) No. 710, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba (10/201) No. 29780, Musnad Abi Ya'la (2/296) No. 1019, Al-Mu’jam al-Awsat Al-Tabarani (4/337) No. 4368]

-e.g. "oh Allah, bless me in this (interest) bank loan"

4. YOU ENTERTAIN BAD IDEAS ABOUT ALLAH ((سبحانه وتعالىٰ))

-e.g. don't say: "oh Allah forgive me IF YOU WANT TO FORGIVE ME"

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), who said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Allah the Almighty said: 'I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed." [Al-Bukhari (7405) also by Muslim (2675), At-Tirmidhi (2388) and Ibn Majah (3822)]

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “None of you should say, ‘O Allah, forgive me if You will. O Allah, have mercy on me if You will.’ He should be firm in his asking. No one can force Him.” [Al-Bukhari (6339) and Muslim (2679)]

In a variant of Muslim, “He should be firm and should have great desire. Nothing is too great for Allah Almighty to give him.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2063) No. 2679]

5. EATING HARAAM, DRINK HARAAM, WEAR HARAAM, DABBLE IN HARAAM,

-When I lived in the UK, I lived in the Asian community
-and the one aspect of Asian Muslims commendable
-is that they always make sure their meat is halal!

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is good. And verily Allah has commanded the believers to do that which He has commanded the Messengers. So the Almighty has said: "O (you) Messengers! Eat of the tayyibat [all kinds of halal (legal) foods], and perform righteous deeds." [23:51] and the Almighty has said: "O you who believe! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you." [2:172]" Then he (SAW) mentioned [the case] of a man who, having journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the sky saying "O Lord! O Lord!," while his food is haram (unlawful), his drink is haram, his clothing is haram, and he has been nourished with haram, so how can [his supplication] be answered? (Narrated by Muslim)

ثم ذكر الرجل يطيل السفر أشعث أغبر يمد يديه إلى السماء: يا رب يا رب، ومطعمه حرام وملبسه حرام وغذي بالحرام فأنى يستجاب له

...Then he (ﷺ) mentioned [the case] of a man who, having journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the sky saying "O Lord! O Lord!," while his food is haram (unlawful), his drink is haram, his clothing is haram, and he has been nourished with haram, so how can [his supplication] be answered? (Narrated by Muslim)

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Our Lord (glorified and exalted be He) descends each night to the earth's sky when there remains the final third of the night, and He says: 'Who is saying a prayer to Me that I may answer it? Who is asking something of Me that I may give it him? Who is asking forgiveness of Me that I may forgive him?'"
