DARS SIX

AYAH 15:
إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّـهِ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ ﴿١٥﴾
Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful.(Al-Hujurat 49:15) [MOHSIN KHAN]
- Saheeh International is a Quran Translation compiled by THREE WOMEN in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The believers are only the ones who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful. (Al-Hujurat 49:15) [SAHIH INTERNATIONAL]
- The Saheeh International translation is by far much more accurate in its delivery of the original text when compared to the translations made by men.
- Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) is reminding us that we are not allowed to have any doubts in regard to our FAITH.
- Having doubts about our faith equals nullifying your SHAHADAH and hence your ISLAM.
- If a person is a FAASIQ who commits Zina and drinks Alcohol but yet is firm in his conviction about ISLAM and its articles of FAITH, he will still enter THE PARADISE.
- Alternatively, a man could avoid all Major SINS and yet enter THE HELLFIRE because he doubts the SIX PILLARS OF EMAAN.
- Therefore, to be sincere in your DEEN you must believe in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) and HIS MESSENGER and then HAVE NO DOUBTS AT ALL.
In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. (Al-Baqarah 2:10)
- The disease ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) speaks about in the above AYAH is the disease of DOUBT.
- To believe in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) is not enough to make you a BELIEVER.
- You must believe in all the articles of FAITH. Therefore, a Unitarian who believes in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) but not in HIS MESSENGER MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) is a KAAFIR.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one among this nation, Jew or Christian, hears of me then dies not believing in that with which I was sent, but he will be one of the people of the Fire.” [Narrated by Muslim, 153]
- The believers are those who believe in ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) and HIS MESSENGER MUHAMMAD (ﷺ).
THE CONDITIONS FOR BEING A BELIEVER
CONDITION # 1 - TO BELIEVE IN ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)
CONDITION # 2 - TO BELIEVE IN HIS MESSENGER MUHAMMAD (ﷺ)
CONDITION # 3 - TO HAVE NO DOUBTS IN REGARD TO YOUR FAITH
CONDITION # 4 - TO FIGHT AND STRIVE IN THE WAY OF ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) IN ORDER TO MAKE HIS WORD THE HIGHEST AND TO REJECT ALL FALSE COMPETITORS
Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari said: "A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'A man fights for fame, or he fights for the spoils of war, or he fights to show off. Who is the one who is fighting in the cause of Allah?' He said: 'The one who fights so that the word of Allah will be supreme is the one who is fighting in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.'" [Sunan An Nisai vol. 1, Book 25, Hadith 3138]
In Ayah 15 of Surah Al-Hujurat, Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) laid down the above four conditions to be a believer.
- Therefore, you are not allowed to fight for Democracy or any other faction promoting an opposing ideology.
- One of the conditions of the MUNAFIQ is that they always doubt their faith.
- We must be extremely careful about who we keep in our company and who we spend our time with.
- According to Imam Abu Hanifa (RA), if someone is asked if they are Muslim, they must not reply with INSHA-ALLAH because that denotes having doubt in your faith.
- However, according to Imam Ghazaali (RA) and Imam Shafi'i (RA) if a person is asked if they are Muslim, they are allowed to say INSHA-ALLAH, because they hope that when they DIE, they will DIE AS A MUSLIM.
- The Prophet (ﷺ) saw himself and his companions entering MAKKAH in his dream.
- The Shafi'is are saying that even though it is a SURETY that Muhammad (ﷺ) will enter MAKKAH, yet ALLAH says INSHA-ALLAH
Indeed, Allah shall fulfil the true vision which He showed to His Messenger (ﷺ) [i.e. the Prophet saw a dream that he has entered Makkah along with his companions, having their (head) hair shaved and cut short] in very truth. Certainly, you shall enter Al¬Masjid¬al-Haram; if Allah wills, secure, (some) having your heads shaved, and (some) having your head hair cut short, having no fear. He knew what you knew not, and He granted besides that a near victory. (Al-Fath 48:27)
The above ayah is the Hujjah used by the Shafi'i Madhab for their stance on replying with INSHA-ALLAH when asked if you are Muslim.
- Zamakhshari disagreed with the Shafi'i Madhab and replied saying that JIBREEL (a.s) put the words INSHA-ALLAH into the QURAN without the permission of ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ).
- This stance of Zamakhshari is considered KUFR by many scholars because he gave the Creation of ALLAH, power to change ALLAH's Will.
- The reason behind the mistakes of Zamakhshari was his inclination to use his AQL over the NAQL; he was a MUTAZILITE.
- NO CREATION HAS INPUT IN THE QURAN. THE QURAN IS STRICTLY THE REVEALED WORDS OF ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ).
- We must note that Zamakhshari was a great scholar and we are allowed to take his works on LANGUAGE.
- However, we are not allowed to take from his works on AQEEDA.
- We must take our AQEEDA from IBN KATHIR and IBN TAYMIYYAH.
- Another proof used by the Shafi'i Madhab is the Hadith of the Messenger (ﷺ) below:
It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to the Prophet (ﷺ): “O Messenger of Allah, what should I say to them (i.e., to the occupants of the graves)?” He said, “Say: Al-salaamu ‘ala ahl il-diyaar min al-mu’mineen wa’l-Muslimeen, wa yarham Allah al-mustaqdimeena minna wa’l-musta’khireen, wa innaa in sha Allah bikum la laahiqoon (Peace be upon the inhabitants of the graves, believers and Muslims. May Allah have mercy upon those who have gone ahead of us and those who come later on, and verily we will, in sha Allah, join you).” [Narrated by Muslim, 974.]
- The Prophet (ﷺ) used the words INSHA-ALLAH when giving SALAMS to the people of the GRAVES even though every soul shall taste DEATH and DEATH is a CERTAINTY.
Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). (Aali Imran 3:185)
Verily, you (O Muhammad ﷺ) will die and verily, they (too) will die. (Az-Zumar 39:30)
- In the west a culture of scepticism is promoted day and night in regard to RELIGION.

- However, in the West they do not promote a culture of scepticism with regards to Government agendas and NEWS Media.
- The word scepticism means to DOUBT WHAT YOU HEAR.
- There are TWO types of DOUBTS/SKEPTICIMS: One is PRAISE WORHTY and the other is BLAME WORTHY.
- The minions of the Western Agenda have set up ideological media machines to promote doubts about ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ), ISLAM and MUHAMMAD (ﷺ).
- They want you to think the HEREAFTER is nothing but a MYTH.
- Many Muslims today have become LOST SOULS, because they have become VICTIMS of this SKEPTICAL AND RELATIVE thinking.
- These people feed on scepticism and relativism to approach every topic concerning the DEEN of ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ).
- The BATTLE between HAQ and BAATIL is an ongoing process, and this ideological warfare has gained ground in successfully snatching Muslims away from the HAQ.
- A Muslim should not only be careful about who he keeps in his company but should also be extremely careful about what type of sources (websites, media etc) he uses to gain his knowledge and information.
- To doubt your RELIGION is BLAME WORTHY doubt.
- Similarly, to DOUBT the AUTHENTICITY of the HOLY QURAN is also BLAME WORTHY.
- However, if you doubt that the Hadiths printed in a book authored by a SUFI or SHIA are fabricated, you are having a doubt that is PRAISEWORTHY, because the modus operandi of these groups is to quote fabricated Hadiths.
- There are two types of CERTAINTY:
The first type of CERTAINTY is called ILMUL YAQEEN
Ilmul Yaqeen means to be certain about a reality because you acquired knowledge or knowledge reached you about the subject matter.
- An example of Ilmul Yaqeen is that Muhammad (ﷺ) was the LAST PROPHET AND MESSENGER OF ALLAH.
- You did not SEE the PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ), yet you believe in his TRUTH.
Anas Ibn Malik (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I wish that I could meet my brothers. The Sahabah asked: Are we not your brothers? He replied: You are my companions, but my brothers are those who will believe in me without having seen me. (Ahmed)
- You are sure he walked the face of the EARTH, and you are sure he was the Messenger of ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ).
- Did you know that FIRAUN had Ilmul Yaqeen even though he died a KAAFIR.
[Musa (Moses)] said: "Verily, you know that these signs have been sent down by none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth as clear (evidence i.e. proofs of Allah's Oneness and His Omnipotence, etc.). And I think you are, indeed, O Fir'aun (Pharaoh) doomed to destruction (away from all good)!" (Al-Isra 17:102)
- He was sure that MUSA (A.S) is the MESSENGER OF ALLAH and that ALLAH IS THE LORD OF THE WORLDS.
- When ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) sent the punishment to FIRAUN and his people, they begged Musa to pray to ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) to stop the punishment
And when the punishment fell on them they said: "O Musa (Moses)! Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you. If you will remove the punishment from us, we indeed shall believe in you, and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you." But when We removed the punishment from them to a fixed term, which they had to reach, behold! They broke their word! (Al-A'raf 7:134-135)
- The second CATEGORY OF CERTAINTY is called AYNUL YAQEEN
- AINUL YAQEEN means to be certain/sure about a reality because you witnessed the event with your two eyes.
- This category of YAQEEN (i.e., Ainul Yaqeen) is better than the category of Ilmul Yaqeen.
- This is because there is absolutely no doubt left once you see something with your own eyes.
And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! (At-Takathur 102:7)
- On the Day of Judgement, we will see the HELLFIRE with our own two eyes. That will be Ainul Yaqeen.
- For example, if your mother finds a girl who suits your precise expectations, you will accept that she actually found the girl without even seeing the girl yourself, because you mother is not a liar. This type of knowledge is called Ilmul Yaqeen.
- You are sure about a reality because knowledge reached you from a RELIABLE SOURCE.
If you go to the house of the girl to finally see her, that experience of yours is now considered to be Ainul Yaqeen.
- You have now seen her with your own eyes, and she is exactly like your mother described her to be.
- Another Example: When you smell smoke in the house it is called Ilmul Yaqeen, however once you rush to the source of smell and you see the fire with your own eyes it is not Aynul Yaqeen.
And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said, "My Lord! Show me how You give life to the dead." He (Allah) said: "Do you not believe?" He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Yes (I believe), but to be stronger in Faith." He said: "Take four birds, then cause them to incline towards you (then slaughter them, cut them into pieces), and then put a portion of them on every hill, and call them, they will come to you in haste. And know that Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise." (Al-Baqarah 2:260)
- In the above Ayah, Nabi Ibrahim asks ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) to show him how ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) gives life to death.
- Ibrahim (AS) wanted to upgrade his certainty from Ilmul Yaqeen to Aynul Yaqeen.
- Ayah 15 in Surah Hujaraat provides us with one of the 7 conditions of your Shahadah.
:::: THE SEVEN CONDITIONS OF YOUR SHAHADAH ::::
CONDITON # 1 - ILM or KNOWKEDGE OF WHAT THE SHAHADAH MEANS
- So, the person who takes Shahadah and does now know what it means while he is saying it, is not considered to be Muslim.
Except those who bear witness to the truth (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allah, and obeyed His Orders), and they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allah). (Az-Zukhruf 43:86)
- You must testify to the truth after having knowledge of the Truth
CONDITION # 2 - YAQEEN or CERTAINTY
- The believer has absolutely no DOUBT in regard to his FAITH
Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful. (Al-Hujurat 49:15)
CONDITON # 3 - TO BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART AND TO TESTIFY WITH YOUR TONGUE
Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (Aali Imran 3:18)
- Anyone whose last words before he/she dies are LA ILAHA IL ALLAH will enter paradise.
Muadh Ibn Jabal (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "He whose last words (in life) were 'La ilaha-ill Allah' (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah) shall enter Paradise.

CONDITION # 4 - TO SUBMIT/SURRENDER TO QURAN AND SUNNAH
It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error. (Al-Ahzab 33:36)
O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you a plain enemy (Al-Baqarah 2:208)
- You are not allowed to make your own opinions rule your decision; you must submit to QURAN and SUNNAH.
- You must ENTER ISLAM WHOLE HEARTEDLY
CONDITION # 5 - TO CONDEMN ALL SHADES OF FALSEHOODS
- We must enjoin the right and forbid the wrong.
Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful. (Aali Imran 3:104)
On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (RA) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Sahih Muslim (1/69) No. 49, Musnad Ahmad (3/10) No. 11088, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/145) No. 4013, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/469) No. 2172, Sunan Abu Dawud (1/296) No. 1140, Sunan al-Nasa'i (8/112) No. 5009]
- We must change the evil with our HANDS, if we cannot then with our TONGUE and if we cannot do that then we must condemn it with our HEARTS.
- If you have the power to stop it with your hands, you must do so.
- We must not limit ourselves to speaking out with our tongues if we can change the evil with our hands.
CONDITION # 6 - SINGULARITY OF DEVOTION (TO SINGLE OUT ALLAH FOR WORSHIP)
Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa 4:48)
"Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earth ful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earth full of pardon.'" (At-Tirmidhi)
And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad ﷺ), as it was to those (Allah's Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers." (Az-Zumar 39:65)
- ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) even warned the PROPHET (ﷺ) that if he was to commit SHIRK all his deeds would be nullified.
- There is no such thing as having an EXCUSE OF IGNORANCE for worshipping a FALSE DIETY.
- IF the Prophet was warned about SHIRK, then we must be even more careful and keep in mind its seriousness.
- Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) made Takfeer on the Jews, Christians and Pagans even before the Hujjah came to them.
Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and among Al-Mushrikun, were not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidence. (Al-Baiyinah 98:1)
Narrated from Anas (RA) that a man said: “O Messenger of Allah, where is my father?” He said: “In Hell.” When he turned away, he called him back and said: “My father and your father are in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 191) No. 203]
- The above-mentioned Hadith is clear evidence that there is no such thing as having an excuse of ignorance for worshipping a false deity.
- You must use the above hadith to checkmate the Munafiqs who claim that there is an excuse of ignorance for committing SHIRK
CONDITION # 7 - AL WALA BARA WAL BARA (TO LOVE AND HATE FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH)
O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Qur'an, and Muhammad SAW), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray, (away) from the Straight Path. (Al-Mumtahinah 60:1)
- A real Muslim will never the love the enemies of ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالىٰ), HIS RASOOL (ﷺ) and THE DEEN.
Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: "Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone," except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: "Verily, I will ask for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allah." Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return, (Al-Mumtahinah 60:4)
You (O Muhammad ﷺ) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ ), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful (Al-Mujadilah 58:22)
- If you love the enemies of Islam and the Munafiqs you are a waste of space and you do not practice Al Wala Wal Bara and hence nullify your Shahadah.
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust). (Al-Ma'idah 5:51)
The believers, men and women, are Auliya' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); they perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (At-Tawbah 9:71)
O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. (Aali Imran 3:118)
