1. TAFSEER SURAH JUM'AH
(ALL THE ANIMALS PRAISE ALLAH)
7TH SEPTEMBER -2013 (SATURDAY)
01 DHUL QI'DAH 1434 HIJRI
-By looking at the name of this Surah-Jum'ah, your common sense
will
tell you it was revealed in Medinah because Jum'ah started in Medinah
Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in the morning prayer on Friday Surah" Alif-Lam-Mim, Tanz'il ul-Sajda" (Surah Al-Sajdah): Surely there came over the man a time" (Surah Al-Insaan) and he used to recite in Jumu'a prayer Surahs Jumu'a and al-Munafiqin. [Sahih Muslim (2/599) No. 879]
-There is a Hadith in Sahih Muslim in which the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite this surah Jum’ah and Munafiqoon
on Fridays
So he would recite these for the Friday salah
AYAH 1
يُسَبِّحُ
لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْقُدُّوسِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah, the King (of everything), the Holy, the All-Mighty, and the All-Wise. (Al-Jumu'ah 62:1)
-This first ayah is telling you every living thing in the heaven
and earth praise Allah سبحانه
وتعالىٰ,
-The birds in the air, the fishes in the sea and the ants in the
hole.
-These creatures make Dua to Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ to forgive a scholar who teaches the Deen
All in the heavens and earth and the fish in the depth of the water seek forgiveness for the scholar, and the superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon at night over the rest of the stars. Verily the scholars are the heirs to the Prophets. Verily, the Prophets did not bequeath deenars or dirhams. All they left behind was knowledge, so whoever takes it has indeed acquired a huge fortune." [Musnad Ahmad (5/196) No. 21763; Also related by Abu Dawud (2/341) No. 3641; at-Tirmidhi (5/48) No. 2682; Ibn Majah (1/150) No. 223, ad-Daarimee (1/110) No. 342 and ibn Hibbaan (1/289) No. 88]
Abu Umamah Bahili (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Surely, Allah, His angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth’s, even the ants in their holes and even the fish invoke blessings on the teacher of the people about what is good.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/50) No. 2685]
-Every living creature acknowledges Tawheed because Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ created them on fitrah
-Remember we did the tafseer of surah Naml
The story of Prophet Suleiman (AS) and his army is mentioned.
The
Surah speak about the hoopoe bird was missing when the army was assembled and
Prophet Suleiman (AS) became furious
-The bird was the water expert.
-Responsible for discovering water inside the Earth and the Army
was thirsty.
-When the hoopoe finally arrived, Prophet Suleiman threatened to kill it or punish it severely
if it did not provide him a good reason for being late
-So it appeared a little while later and gives its reason.
-In the Qu’ran Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ Said in Surah Al Naml:
"I found a woman
ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by
any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne. I found her and her people
worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan (Satan) has made their deeds
fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah's) Way, so they have no
guidance," (An-Naml 27:23-24)
-The bird complained to Prophet Suleiman (AS) because it believes in Tawheed and it knew about the web of the Shaitaan, because it said it was the shaitaan that made their shirk fair-seeming to them
-Sometimes the animals turn against their master's because they despise them for being kuffaar, because the animals are Muslims
-In France, a dog turned on her master and ate half of her face.
Maybe it despised her
for being a prostitute
-Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ is the King of Everything
-The Islamic leadership is khilafah and not kingship and those
that say
-Kingship is halal because David (AS) was kings are
wrong
-That is an abrogated Shariah
-The evidence is surah Naml
She said: "Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do. (An-Naml 27:34)
-Bilqees said kings whenever they enter a land they corrupt
-But the people who support kings said that Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ didn’t say that statement, but Bilqees did.
But the knockout punch is that Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ rubber-stamped what she said and said 'this is exactly what they do'
Narrated By Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle ﷺ saying, "Allah will hold the whole earth, and roll all the heavens up in His Right Hand, and then He will say, 'I am the King; where are the kings of the earth?'" [Al-Bukhari (7382) and Muslim (2787)]
Kingship is haram but if he governs with Shariah his kingship is
halal
-Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, Mu'awiyya and Harun Ar-Rasheed were all kings but very pious and they governed with shariah
-For example, it is Haram
for a woman to travel without a Mahram for more than one day and night
-But I asked my
Shaikhs how about those go for hajj without mahrams
-I was told their hajj
is accepted if they do it correctly
-Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ is the Holy- Al Quddus it means Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ is free from all imperfections and because of this, if you are praying behind an Imam and he makes a mistake you say SubhanAllah to remind him that Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ is free from all imperfections
Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! And peace be on the Messengers! (As-Saffat 37:180-181)
-Kuffaar don’t understand that Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ is Al Quddus
And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, Jinns and all that exists). (As-Saffat 37:182)
-They believe that He has a son
-This is accusing Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ of having an affair- audhubillah
He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything. (Al-An'am 6:101)
-But Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said He has no wife so how He could have a son
-They are indeed far astray
-The Kuffaar also Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ told them to get drunk and fall over
Therefore thou shalt say
unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be
drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I
will send among you. Jeremiah 25:27) King James Version
WHY DID ALLAH سبحانه وتعالىٰ SAY HE IS ALL MIGHTY ALL WISE?
The answer to the
question is Might without Wisdom is a recipe for disaster
You need one attribute to perfect the other and because of this Allah joined the two qualities together.
AYAH 2
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ رَسُولًۭا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ٢
He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book (this Qur'an, Islamic laws and Islamic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah (As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, etc. of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). And verily, they had been before in manifest error; (Al-Jumu'ah 62:2)
-Allah
سبحانه
وتعالىٰ called Himself He,
-So,
you should not be shy to call Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ He
-He
sent the unlettered one meaning illiterate someone who cannot READ or WRITE
This
ayah is similar to surah 7:157
Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad ﷺ) whom they find written with them in the Taurat (Torah) (Deut, xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16), - he commands them for Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibat [(i.e. all good and lawful) as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khaba'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allah's Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad ﷺ), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur'an) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful. (Al-A'raf 7:157)
-In above ayah, Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ confirmed that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) could not read or write.
-Imam Qurtubi said there are three reasons why Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ made the Prophet (ﷺ)
illiterate:
1. HIS MESSAGE FULFILLED THE FORETELLING OF PREVIOUS PROPHETS THAT HE WILL BE ILLITERATES
2. TO MAKE HIM SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS PROPHETS
3. TO ELIMINATE ALL SUSPICIONS THAT HE LEARNT HIS MESSAGE FROM PREVIOUS BOOKS
Qurtubi said in the Tafseer of Surah 62:2, that purifying them means, to purify them from KUFR, SHIRK, ZANDAQA and superstition from RACISM, TRIBALISH and all man-made isms and schism
Because in Medinah you had the two tribes (Aws and Khazraj) on each other's throats during Jahiliyyah (ignorance)
They were killing each other in a war of attrition but when the Prophet (ﷺ) entered Medina they became brothers and the killing stopped
And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Qur'an), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic Faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided. (Aali Imran 3:103)
And He has united their (i.e. believers') hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah has united them. Certainly He is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Al-Anfal 8:63)
-So only Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ has the Power to put love in the hearts of
people for each other
-He made the hearts of the Aws and Khazraj united
-This ayah is relevant to our topic because Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said purifying them
-The Hadith said the Prophet (ﷺ) was sent to "Purify Characters"
Abu Huraira narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "I was sent to perfect good character." [Al-Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari, No. 273, Muwatta Malik (2/75) No. 1885, Musnad Ahmad (2/381) No. 8939, Mustadrak al-Haakim (2/670) No. 4221]
-The Kitab (Book) is the Holy Qur'an and it is the greatest miracle of the Prophet (ﷺ) because it has no grammatical errors
-It agrees with all modern-day scientific predictions and it coincides with your natural instincts, Scientific Discoveries.
-It didn’t put a burden on you more than you can bear
-It was revealed to correct the Prophet (ﷺ) and was revealed to solve certain dilemmas the Prophet encountered
-Imam Qurtubi then said, not because Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said He sent him to the Arabs that he was only sent to the Arabs he was sent for all mankind and jinn
And We have sent you (O Muhammad ﷺ) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-Anbiya 21:107)
Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Qur'ân). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Qur'ân)! It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh). (Al-Jinn 72:1-2)
THE PROPHET (ﷺ) SAID HE WAS BLESSED WITH 6 THINGS TO ONLY HIM:
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
1) I have been given superiority over the other prophets in six respects:
2) I have been given words which are concise but comprehensive in meaning;
3) I have been helped by terror (in the hearts of enemies):
4) Spoils have been made lawful to me:
5) The earth has been made for me clean and a place of worship.
6) I have been sent to all mankind, and the line of Prophets is
closed with me.
[Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith 1062]
Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): "O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah - to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He); It is He Who gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad SAW) who believes in Allah and His Words [(this Qur'an), the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and also Allah's Word: "Be!" - and he was, i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary),], and follow him so that you may be guided."(Al-A'raf 7:158)
And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said, "My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day." He (Allah) answered: "As for him who disbelieves, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination!" (Al-Baqarah 2:126)
-Prophet Ibrahim (as) made a Dua to Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ to make Makkah a rich and safe city and Allah answered the Dua
Then Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ asked the people of Makkah a question in surah 29:67
Have they not seen that We have made (Makkah) a sanctuary secure, and that men are being snatched away from all around them? Then do they believe in Batil (falsehood - polytheism, idols and all deities other than Allah), and deny (become ingrate for) the Graces of Allah? (Al-'Ankabut 29:67)
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said in Quran Surah 95. Al Tin verse 1 to 4
By the fig, and the olive, By Mount Sinai, And by this city of security (Makkah), Verily, We created man of the best stature (mould), (At-Tin 95: 1-4)
Also, Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said in Quran Surah 2. Al Baqarah verse 129
"Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own (and indeed Allah answered their invocation by sending Muhammad Peace be upon him), who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur'an) and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islamic laws and jurisprudence or wisdom or Prophet hood, etc.), and sanctify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (Al-Baqarah 2:129)
-In this world today, people use the word Tasawwuf; this word is a Bid'ah, not found in Qur'an and Sunnah
-Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ used the word Tazkiya, not only is the word Tasawwuf, Bid'ah but their practices and believes are Bid'ah, Kufr Shirk and Zandaqa
AND BEFORE THAT THEY WERE IN PLAIN ERROR
-Because the people of Makkah were worshipping 360 idols inside
and outside Makkah, that is manifest error.
-They used to bury their girl children.
-They used to do prostitution and RIBA (Interests).
-They ate animals that died by themselves, these are all manifest error.
-Their state was pitiful, appalling and pathetic and because of this, the Prophet ﷺ used to go to the Cave Hira to meditate about their state and while in the cave Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ sent Angel Jibreel to reveal Prophet hood to him on the night of Lailatul Qadr
-Luay ibn Amr brought into Makkah idol worshipping
Imam Ahmad record that 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud said that the Prophet said: (The first to start the practice of Sai'ban and worshipping idols was Abu Khuza'ah. Amr bin amir. I saw him pulling his intestines behind him in the fire) [Musnad Ahmad (1/446) no: 4258) Sahih because of corrobating evidence and its isnad is daeef)
The 'Amr mentioned in the above Hadith is the son of Luhay bin Qam'ah, one of the chiefs of the tribe of Khuza'ah who were the caretakers of the House of Allah after the tribe of Jurhum, (and before the Prophet's tribe, Quraysh). He was the first to change the religion of Ibrahim (Al-Khalil in Makkah) bringing idol worshipping to the area of Hijaz (Western Arabia). He also called the foolish people to worship idols and offer sacrifices to them and started these ignorant rituals concerning the animals as well as other rituals of Jahiliyyah. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer (3/209)]
-When he came back from Syria with an idol and told them to worship it as their new god and they left the Millat of Ibrahim which is Tawheed
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said in Qu’ran Surah Al Baqarah and Ash Shura:
And who turns away from the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. (Al-Baqarah 2:130)
Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed. And had it not been for a decisive Word (gone forth already), the matter would have been judged between them. And verily, for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers), there is a painful torment. (Ash-Shura 42:21)
Or even do they have associates (with Allah) who have legislated
for them as the religion that which Allah has not given permission? And had it
not been for the Word of Verdict, indeed it would have been decreed between them,
and surely the unjust will have a painful torment. (Ash Shura 42:21) {DR Ghali
