SURAH MUNAFIQOON
SEPTEMBER 14
2013
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ Said in this verses:
AYAH 1
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَكَاذِبُونَ
When the hypocrites come to you
(O Muhammad ﷺ), they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed the
Messenger of Allah." Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger and
Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed. (Al-Munafiqun 63:1)
By looking at this surah;
The name of this surah, your common sense tells you that it was revealed in Medinah,
not Makkah because there were no hypocrites in Makkah and the reason why there
were no hypocrites in Makkah is because the condition in Makkah was harsh
you needed strong Emaan to be
Muslim because of the persecution, but
the fiqh ul waaqia of Medina was different and so it was easy for someone to
hide his hypocrisy pretend to be Muslim while a hypocrite deep inside
Therefore the place you live
affects your Emaan and your psyche
-ibn Taymiyyah explained this
How can you be with the Prophet
(ﷺ) and be a hypocrite?
Shaykh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah
(rh) said, “The state of a place reflects the state of a person. It is possible
to be sometimes a Muslim and at other times a disbeliever; sometimes sincere
and at other times hypocritical; sometimes good and pious and at other times
rotten and corrupt. Thus, a person becomes like the place of his abode. The
migration of a person from a land of disbelief and profanity to one of faith
and probity is an expression of repentance and of his turning away from
disobedience and perversion to belief and obedience. This is so until the Day
of Resurrection.” [Majmu’al-Fatawa, (18/284)]
-so if hypocrites lived back
then, can you imagine the number in our time
A Tabi'e said I met 30 Sahabah
and all of them were scared of being hypocrites]
-Hassan Al Basri said believer
fears hypocrisy and only a Munafiq feels safe from hypocrisy
-This Surah was revealed after
the battle of Banu Mustalliq in 6AH and the
wordings of the surah confirm the surah was revealed after an expedition-Banu
Mustalliq
-The leader of the hypocrites
was Abdullah ibn Ubbay in Medina
-He was from the KHAZRAJ tribe
and he was about to be anointed king of both the AWS and KHAZRAJ and he was
even called king salool
-But when the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived in Medina,
his influence became overshadowed
-Hence he carried a permanent
grudge against the Prophet (ﷺ) and he pursued the
path of hypocrisy
And never (O Muhammad ﷺ) pray (funeral prayer)
for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they
disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fasiqun
(rebellious, - disobedient to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ). (At-Tawbah 9:84)
Ibn Abi Mulaykah said: "I
met thirty of the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ), all of whom feared
being hypocrites, and none of them ever said that he had faith equivalent to
that of Jibreel and Mikaa‘eel."[No takhreej]
According to a report narrated
by Ibn Haani‘, Imam Ahmad was asked: What do you say about one who does not
fear hypocrisy for himself? He said: Who can feel safe from hypocrisy? [Fath
al-Baari by Ibn Rajab (1/178, 179)]
-The stance of Abdullah ibn
Ubayy is indicative of the danger of love for wealth and status because these
caused him to pursue the path of hypocrisy and die in it
-Once the Rasool was passing
by and he spoke to him in a harsh manner
Once when the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) was passing on the way
Abdullah bin Ubayy spoke to him in harsh words. When the Holy Prophet
complained of it to the Sahabi, Sa'd bin
Ubadah; he said:" O Messenger of Allah, don't be hard on him, for when
Allah sent you to us we were making a diadem to crown him, and, by God, he
thinks that you have robbed him of his kingdom." (Ibn Hisham vol: II, pp.
237-238)
He was a staunch ally of the
tribe of Banu Qainuqa
-The tribe that pinned the
dress of a Muslim woman in the market and so revealed her AWRA
-They got kicked out of Medina
-but the day they were kicked
out, Abdullah Ibn Ubayy displayed his al Walaa Wal Baraa
-His Walaa was to the tribe of
Banu Qainuqa
After the Battle of Badr when
the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) invaded the Jewish tribe of Bani Qainuqa
on their breaking the agreement and un provoked revolt, Abdullah ibn Ubayy
stood up in support of them, and holding the Holy Prophet by his armor, said:”
These 700 fighters have been helping and protecting me against every enemy;
would you cut them down in one morning?
By God, I will not leave you until you pardon my clients." (Ibn
Hisham, vol. III, pp. 5l- 52) [Sahih Bukhari (1/18-19)]
-they were the first Jewish
tribe to break their treaty with the Prophet (ﷺ)
Is it not (the case) that every
time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside? Nay! The truth
is most of them believe not. (Al-Baqarah 2:100)
The Prophet ﷺ set out to fight at
Uhud with 3000 men
-while they were on their way
he reduced the army to 700 men by causing mutiny that sent 300 men back to Medina
Had they marched out with you,
they would have added to you nothing except disorder, and they would have
hurried about in your midst (spreading corruption) and sowing sedition among
you, and there are some among you who would have listened to them. And Allah is
the All-Knower of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) (At-Tawbah
9:47)
-but Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ told you not to take the hypocrites to the
battle field because they will cause discourse and mutiny
-After the incidence at Uhud,
the Muslims in Medina became sure he was a 100% Munafiq
-But this man used to go to
the Masjid early on Fridays and ascend the Minbar and he would say this is the
truth which Allah sent to Muhammad (ﷺ), so why was he
going early to the Masjid? Because he was using the Minbar to seek fame and
fortune
When he ascended the Minbar,
some Muslims dragged him back and said
he does not deserve to ascend the Minbar of the prophet so he left the Masjid
disgraced
After his treachery at Uhud
the common Muslims of Medina came to realize fully that he was certainly a
hypocrite and his Companions also were found to be deep in hypocrisy. That is
why when on the very first Friday, after the Battle of Uhud, this man stood up
as usual to make a speech before the Holy Prophet's Sermon, the people pulled
at his garment, saying "Sit down you are not worthy to say such
things." That was the first occasion in Medina when this man was publicly
disgraced. Thereupon he was so filled with rage that he left the mosque jumping
over the heads of the people. At the door of the Mosque some of the Ansar said
to him, "What are you doing? Go back and ask the Holy Prophet (upon whom
be Allah's peace) to pray for your forgiveness." He retorted "I do
not, want him to pray for my forgiveness." (Ibn Hisham, vol. III, p. 111)
-he met some Muslims at the
door and they asked him to go seek forgiveness from the Prophet ﷺ but he refused so he incurred the wrath of Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ on him
-One day the Prophet ﷺ went to see him
ridding on a donkey
-he told the Prophet to get
back because the smell of the donkey was disturbing him
Anas reports: “It was
suggested to the Prophet (ﷺ) that he should
visit Abdullah ibn Ubayy. The Prophet went to see him, riding a donkey, and a
number of Muslims went out with him, walking through an area with bad smell.
When the Prophet was with him, he said to the Prophet: ‘Stay at a distance. By
God, your donkey’s smell is terrible.’ A man from the Ansar said to Abdullah:
‘By God! The stinking of the Prophet’s donkey is more pleasant than your
smell.’” (Related by Ahmad, Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
-so some Sahabah told him he
was stinker than the Prophet's donkey and because of this incident, Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ revealed the ayah:
And if two parties or groups
among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if
one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that
which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies,
then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allah
loves those who are equitable. (Al-Hujurat 49:9)
Why is it that the companions
of the Prophet ﷺ and Abdullah Ibn Ubbay had a fist fight and Allah still
pronounced both parties Muslims?
This is because some of the
people who were following him didn’t know he was a Munafiq, the only way you
can detect a Munafiq is by being pious
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said:
O you who believe! If you obey
and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right
and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every
difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is
the Owner of the Great Bounty. (Al-Anfal 8:29)
-With Taqwa Allah will grant
you Furqan but without Taqwa you will have no Furqan
and will be ripped off
-Another treachery of Abdullah
ibn Ubayy is that, at the battle of Banu
Mustalliq, two Sahabah argued over a well; one from Muhajiroon and the other
from Ansar so Abdullah said look, these Muhajiroon are paupers
Narrated Jabir: 'We were in
the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) in a Ghazwa. A large number of emigrants joined him and among
the emigrants there was a person who used to play jokes (or play with spears);
so he (jokingly) stroked an Ansari man on the hip. The Ansari got so angry that
both of them called their people. The Ansari said, "Help, O Ansar!"
And the emigrant said "Help, O emigrants!" The Prophet came out and said, "What is
wrong with the people (as they are calling) this call of the period of
Ignorance?”Then he said, "What is the matter with them?" So he was
told about the stroke of the emigrant to the Ansari. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Stop this (i.e.
appeal for help) for it is an evil call." Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul (a
hypocrite) said, "The emigrants have called and (gathered against us); so
when we return to Medina, surely, the more honourable people will expel there
from the meaner," Upon that 'Umar said, "O Allah's Prophet (ﷺ)! Shall we not kill this evil
person (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul)?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "(No),
lest the people should say that Muhammad (ﷺ) used to kill his companions."' [Al-Bukhari (4/183) and
Muslim (2584)]
-they came to Medina and we
took them in and gave them everything so when we go back to Medina we will
drive them out
-when the Prophet asked
Abdullah ibn Ubayy, he swore that he didn’t say it.
-Because Zayd ibn Arqam was a
small boy then and this is why Allah
revealed surah munafiqoon
-Another incident is when he
slandered Aisha, accusing her of having an affair
-he did this because of the
vendetta he carried against the Prophet (ﷺ) because if you
accuse a woman of committing zina; this is embarrassing for the man
-After the incident of Zayd
ibn Arqam, Umar became very upset and he asked for permission to chop off the
head of Abdullah ibn Ubayy because Umar did not
believe his wallahi
-he believed the boy but the Prophet
ﷺ said to Umar, do you want the people to say Muhammad chopped off
the head of his own people this is because 1/3
of the people of medina listen to Abdullah ibn Ubayy and he used to
climb the mimbar and speak, so it was not wise to kill him
These were some of the
treacheries of the leader of the munafiqoon in Medina
AYAH 1
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَكَاذِبُونَ
When the hypocrites come to you

Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed. (Al-Munafiqun 63:1)
This ayah is very important, because Allah
said they recite the shahadah but I throw it back to their faces like a dirty
rag
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ refused their shahadah because they
recited it with their tongues but it didn’t come from their hearts in order for Allah to accept your shahahdah, you have to be
convinced with it in your heart then say with your tongue and your limbs
implement it
-therefore emaan is conviction
with the heart, declaration with the tongue and implementation with the limbs. So emaan is of three dimensions and this is why Allah threw
their shahadah back on their faces and there is nothing like a
non-practising Muslim
When some POWs were taking
their shahadah, the sahabah were concerned what if their shahadah was fake
Then Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ revealed;
But if they repent, perform
As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat, then they are your brethren in
religion. (In this way) We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses,
lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail for a people who know. (At-Tawbah
9:11)
THE SHAHADAH HAS 7 CONDITIONS:
-so this is the evidence that
there is nothing called a non-practising Muslim if one condition is missing, you join the ranks of the
Munafiqeen and Allah is going to throw your shahadah back on your face
like a dirty rag
7 CONDITIONS OF SHAHADAH
1. ILM
-knowledge of what the
shahadah means
And those whom they invoke
instead of Him have no power of intercession; except those who bear witness to
the truth (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allah, and obeyed His Orders), and
they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allah) (Az-Zukhruf 43:86)
-if a person recites the
shahadah but does not know what he is reciting, will have it rejected
2. CERTAINTY
-if a person is not convinced
about the pillars of Islam or its principles, he is a FIVE star kaafir
Only those are the believers who
have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive
with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the
truthful. (Al-Hujurat 49:15)
-If somebody should give you
zam zam water to drink, you will drink it because it is pure but if it is mixed
with urine, you won’t drink it
-therefore when you have
doubts in your heart it is contaminated and it no longer becomes pure and this
makes you Munafiq
In their hearts is a disease (of
doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment
is theirs because they used to tell lies. (Al-Baqarah 2:10)
3. TO BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART AND
TESTIFY WITH YOUR TONGUE
Allah bears witness that La
ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels,
and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining
His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped
but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (Al Imran 3:18)
-When the Prophet's ﷺ uncle was on his
death bed, the prophet told him to testify to the shahadah, but Abu Jahl was
there and he asked him not to recite it. The way a person died is very
important
Can you imagine if Lady Diana
or Michael Jakson had a Muslim janaza?
-if a celebrity dies on Islam
it has an impact on the people and Abu
Talib was a celebrity and this was why Abu Jahl was bent on making him
not recite the shahadah before he died and so he died a kaafir and this
devastated the Prophet.
So Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ revealed:
Verily! You (O Muhammad ﷺ) guide not whom you
like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the
guided. (Al-Qasas 28:56)
-Because his uncle was a
helper of Islam, he liked him so if you have a kaafir family member who is
sympathiser to Islam and you like them, you didn’t do anything wrong
-Abu Talib believed in his
heart Muhammad (ﷺ) was a Prophet yet he died a kaafir because he didn’t testify
with his tongue
-Even Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ testified to it so who are you not to
Allah bears witness that La
ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels,
and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining
His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped
but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (Aali Imran 3:18)
4. TO SURRENDER TO QUR'AN AND
SUNNAH
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said:
O you who believe! Enter
perfectly in Islam (by obeying all the rules and regulations of the Islamic
religion) and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily! He is to you
a plain enemy (Al-Baqarah 2:208)
Don’t have one foot in Islam and
one foot in Christianity
-I have seen Muslims in
dreadlocks
Don’t have one foot in Islam and
the other in feminism
-don’t be a Munafiq, enter
Islam with both feet
It is not for a believer, man or
woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have
any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he
has indeed strayed in a plain error. (Al-Ahzab 33:36)
You are not allowed to believe
in democracy, if you do, Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ will disgrace you. See how Allah disgraced the Muslim brotherhood of Egypt because
they lied on Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ and claimed shura is democracy
But no, by your Lord, they can
have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad ﷺ) judge in all disputes
between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and
accept (them) with full submission. (An-Nisa 4:65)
-The conditions of shahadah were
extracted from the Qur'an
5. TO CONDEMN ALL SHADES OF
FALSEHOOD
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ Said:
Let there arise out of you a
group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (i.e.
Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding
Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it
is they who are the successful. (Aali Imran 3:104)
-some people condemn the shirk
of palm readers, grave worshipping etc but they will never condemn the shirk of
the qusoor-the palaces
-all of you know which group I
am referring to even without calling these low life scum’s because you are so
clever and intelligent, you can put the pieces of the puzzle together
The evidence for this
condition of shahadah is:
On the authority of Abu Sa’eed
al-Khudree (RA) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Whosoever of
you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do
so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so,
then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.”

Musnad Ahmad (3/10) No. 11088, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/145) No. 4013, Sunan Tirmidhi
(4/469) No. 2172, Sunan Abu Dawud (1/296) No. 1140, Sunan al-Nasa'i (8/112) No.
5009]
Let there arise out of you a
group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (i.e.
Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding
Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it
is they who are the successful. (Al Imran 3:104)
-Because some people say we
have to be in a large group to command good and forbid evil, I quote to you
this ayah and the hadith says if you see an evil
act stop it with your hand etc, and the weakest level is to hate it in
your heart. You don’t need a large group to do that, My shaikhs explained the
hadith above as,
-if you have the power to stop
the munkar with your hands, you are not allowed to avoid that and condemn with
your tongue and if you have the power to condemn the munkar with your tongue,
don’t hate it in your heart and because of this
imam Ahmad said, if the scholar keeps quiet about the truth, how will the
people learn and because of this he was given the title, the imam of ASWJ
-Some people say if you
condemn the munkar with your tongue you are spreading fitna but we have already
fallen into fitna because the munkar is widespread
6. SINGULARITY OF DEVOTION
-to worship Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ alone without ascribing partners unto Him when you look at this shahadah, immediately you know the
goofy Soofis nullified their shahadah because they don’t practice this
condition
-because they are grave
worshippers just like the Berailvis. When you
study these conditions of shahadah, you realise only few are Muslims
Surely, the religion (i.e. the
worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya'
(protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that
they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them
concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar,
and a disbeliever. (Az-Zumar 39:3)
-They are called so because
they recited iyaka na3budu wa iyyaka nasta3een in Surah Fatiha but went to the
graves to worship, so they lied and
they are Muslims by culture not by conviction
-You are impressed with this
ayah am sure
Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah
(rh) said: "When some people asked Imaam Ahmad bin Hanbal that they felt
uneasy about criticizing people, he replied: "If I were to remain silent,
how would the ignorant masses know the truth from falsehood?" [Majmoo'
al-Fataawaa (28/231)]
-but am going to bring you
another ayah which is the knockout punch for the Berailvis
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said:
If you invoke (or call upon)
them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could
not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will
disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad SAW) like Him
Who is the All Knower (of each and everything). (Fatir 35:14)
A dead man can hear but Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ blocks them from hearing shirk
-we believe the dead man can
hear and feel but Allah said they can’t grant any request
Yahya related to me from Malik
from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "O
Allah! Do not make my grave an idol that is worshipped. The anger on those who
took the graves of their Prophets as places of prostration was terrible." [Muwatta
Malik (1/223) No. 570, Musannaf Abdur Razzaq (1/406) No. 1587, Musnad Ahmad
(2/246) No. 7352]
-the Prophet said the grave is
an idol so if you worship it, you are an idol
worshipper
The ideology of the murji is
that a mushrik can be a Muslim because the mushrik did not know better when
worshipping false deity so they give excuse
of ignorance for shirk of ibaadah and the evidence they bring is the hadith
above but we are talking about shirk not zina
-Do you think we are stupid Muslims?
On the authority of Qataada
who said: “A woman slept with her male servant and cited an ayah of the Holy
Qur'an as her evidence for her action. ‘…or the (female) slaves whom their
right hands possess…’ (An-Nur 24:31). This woman was brought to Umar ibn
al-Khattab (RA) by a group of Sahabas who complained to Umar that she
misinterpreted a verse from the Holy Qur’an and slept with her male servant.
Umar commanded that the male servant should be sent away for a year and he was
beheaded. He then said to the woman you are now haram for all Muslims.” [Tafseer
al-Tabari (9/586) No. 11277]
Narrated By Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "A man who never did any good deed, said that if he
died, his family should burn him and throw half the ashes of his burnt body in
the earth and the other half in the sea, for by Allah, if Allah should get hold
of him, He would inflict such punishment on him as He would not inflict on
anybody among the people. But Allah ordered the sea to collect what was in it
(of his ashes) and similarly ordered the earth to collect what was in it (of
his ashes). Then Allah said (to the recreated man), 'Why did you do so?' The
man replied, 'For being afraid of You, and You know it (very well).' So Allah
forgave him." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 9, Book 93, Hadith 597]
-Nothing in this hadith
mentioned the man committed shirk, so these murjia bring such hadith and think
they can fool you
-This man in the above hadith
didn’t know about the 99 names of Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ and Attributes so he
didn’t commit shirk
Therefore this hadith too is
no hujjah that a Mushrik can be a Muslim
We will bring evidences
against them
And (remember) when your Lord
brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from
Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying):
"Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest
you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware
of this." (Al-A'raf 7:172)
Some people are cannibals
-Allah pronounced them as
kuffaar and in the Qur'an Allah pronounced some people as kaafir before the
hujjah reached them
Those who disbelieve from among
the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and among Al-Mushrikun, were
not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidence. (Al-Baiyinah
98:1)
In the ayah above
-this is the evidence that
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ makes takfir on people even before the hujjah reached them so
let me see you reject this
Narrated from Anas (RA) that a
man said: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, where is my father?”
He said: “In Hell.” When he turned away he called him back and said: “My father
and your father are in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 191) No. 203]
-The Prophet said his father
is in hellfire even though he died before he was born
-It is your natural instinct
to worship one God and don’t listen to the murjia
So set you (O Muhammad ﷺ) your face towards the
religion of pure Islamic Monotheism Hanifa (worship none but Allah Alone)
Allah's Fitrah (i.e. Allah's Islamic Monotheism), with which He has created
mankind. No change let there be in Khalqillah (i.e. the Religion of Allah
Islamic Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not.
[Tafsir AtTabari, Vol 21, Page 41] (Ar-Rum 30:30)
-They have made up their own
religion-hislam
And when they embark on a ship,
they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only, but when He brings
them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others. (Al-'Ankabut
29:65)
"Suhail said to the
Prophet "Please conclude a peace treaty with us." So, the Prophet
called the clerk and said to him, "Write: بِسْمِ
اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
'Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem' (In the Name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the
most Merciful)." Suhail said, "As for الرَّحْمَنِ 'ar-Rahman (Beneficent), by Allah, I do
not know what it means. So write: بِاسْمِكَ اللهُمَّ 'Bismika
Allahumma' (By Your Name O Allah)" [Al-Bukhari (2731) and Muslim (1784)]
-when the prophet was signing
the treaty of hudaibiyyah, the kuffar said they don’t want to see Ar Rahman Ar
Raheem written so they want only one God
written on the paper
-so they went back to their
natural instincts and dismissed all the 360
idols in the ka'ba and because of this we do not accept the excuse of
ignorance for shirk ibaada
7. TO LOVE AND HATE FOR THE SAKE
OF ALLAH
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ spoke about this in surah 60:1
O you who believe! Take not My
enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends,
showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to
you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Qur'an, and Muhammad SAW), and
have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) and yourselves (from your
homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to
strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these
disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to
them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal.
And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, and then indeed he has gone (far)
astray, (away) from the Straight Path. (Al-Mumtahinah 60:1)
Al Walaa Wal Baraa is called
Millat Ibrahim and it is called so because of surah 60:4
Indeed there has been an
excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they
said to their people: "Verily, we are free from you and whatever you
worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us
and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone,"
except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: "Verily, I will ask
for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for
you before Allah." Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You
(Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return, (Al-Mumtahinah
60:4)
-Not until you love what Allah
سبحانه
وتعالىٰ Loves and hate what He hates, you are a fake Muslim
-These people have emaan and
that is why their Walaa and Baraa is for Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ
You (O Muhammad ﷺ) will not find any
people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who
oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ), even though they
were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred
(people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them
with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them
to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell therein (forever).
Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah.
Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful. (Al-Mujadilah
58:22)
Why did I give you the SEVEN
conditions of shahadah tonight?
-This is because Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said in the first ayah He rejected the
shahadah of the hypocrites back on their dirty faces.
