TAFSEER SURAH MUDDATHTHIR
{THE PLOTTING OF WALID IBN MUGHIRAH}

AYAH 8
فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ
And when the trumpet is blown, (Al-Muddaththir 74:8) {Sahih international}
Ibn Tayimiah said this is wrong, angel will blow Three times
The angel will blow in the trumpet Three times; the angel will not blow in the trumpet two times,
Ibn Tayimiah said the common notion that the angel will blow in the trumpet two times is wrong
This is correct opinion as:
1st Blowing - RAJIFA
The first blowing is to cause horror and terror, and it is called Rajifa
2nd Blowing - RADIFA
The second blowing is called Radifa.
The purpose of this is for everyone to die and when israfeel; blows in the trumpet.
Everyone will perish including all angels including angel israfeel
Evidence is in Quran surah Ar rahman 55:26-27
Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish. And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever. (Ar-Rahman 55:26-27)
3rd Blowing - ZAJARA
The third blowing is called zajara
The purpose of zajara it is for everyone to be resurrected from the death
These three blowing are made mention of by Allah in surah naziat
Those who claim that there are 2 blowing have misunderstanding about the resurrection.
1) Horror and terror
2) Death
3) Resurrection
AYAH 9
فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ
Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. (Al-Muddaththir 74:9)
Evidence is that it will be a hard day.
Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." (Al-Qamar 54:8)
Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)? (Al-Muzzammil 73:17)
People become grey headed when they see hardship and Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) says that the children will become grey headed on Day of Judgment.
This is because it is a hard, horrifying, pitying day
Mothers will drop their load (from horror and terror) and the woman giving suck to her baby will abandon it and people will be in a drunken state. That's why it is a hard day
O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) is a terrible thing. The Day you shall see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one will drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet they will not be drunken, but severe will be the Torment of Allāh. (Al-Hajj 22:1-2)
Which woman will abandon her baby; the horror and terror of the day will make the mother abandon her baby?
A woman's natural instinct is to be merciful to her baby. But the horror of that day will cause her to forget that.
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) said in the Qur'an Surah Al Anfal Verse 34 to 37
And why should not Allāh punish them while they stop (men) from Al-Masjid-al-Harām, and they are not its guardians? None can be its guardian except Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2), but most of them know not. Their Salat (prayer) at the House (of Allah, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Therefore, taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve. (Al-Anfal 8:34-35)
Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allāh, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell. In order that Allāh may distinguish the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) from the good (believers of Islāmic Monotheism and doers of righteous deeds), and put the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) one on another, heap them together and cast them into Hell. Those! It is they who are the losers. (Al-Anfal 8:36-37)
That Day shall a man flee from his brother, And from his mother and his father,
And Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said in Quran in Surah Abasa verse 34 to 37
And from his wife and his children. Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. (Abasa 80:34-37)
On that day, people will run away from close family (Brothers, Fathers, Mothers, Children, and Wives) and he will say I have too much on my plate; I have to be concerned for myself.
Your mother will say I carried you in my belly for 9 months, gave you suck, brought you up give me one of your Ramadan... you will run away from her.
Your wife who cooked your food and attended to your sexual needs will want some of your salah and you will flee from her.
You will say what if I need it myself... because the hell fire
will be in front of you, even though the love between husband and wife is so
strong, yet on that day,
they will flee each other.
Side point>>if there is no love in the marriage, you shouldn't be in that marriage.
And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect. (Ar-Rum 30:21)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) talks about the love between spouses in above surah Ar rum verse 21
These ayahs prove to us the Day of Judgment is a hard day Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) mentions it in 74:9
Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. (Al-Muddaththir 74:9)
It is a hard day for the kuffar, the Muslims will admit their sins and forgive them, and the kuffar will deny their sins and be dumped in the hellfire.
This Day, We shall seal up their mouths, and their hands will speak to us, and their legs will bear witness to what they used to earn. (It is said that one's left thigh will be the first to bear the witness) (Ya-Sin 36:65)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) will seal the lips of the kuffar and make their limbs testify; the first limb to testify against you will be the left leg; not only the limbs but also even the earth will testify.
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) said in the Qur’an surah Az zalzalah:
When the earth is shaken with its (final) earthquake. And when the earth throws out its burdens, And man will say: "What is the matter with it?" That Day it will declare its information (about all what happened over it of good or evil). Because your Lord has inspired it. That Day mankind will proceed in scattered groups that they may be shown their deeds. So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it (Az-Zalzalah 99:1-8)
The burden of the earth is the billions of dead bodies buried inside the earth and earth will testify for the salvation and condemnation of people.
AYAH 10
عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ
Far from easy for the disbelievers (Al-Muddaththir 74:10)
It will be hard for the kuffar, the kafir who brags about the
dunya (money, car, house, clothes, and women).
The kuffar will want to be turned into dust.
Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" (An-Naba 78:40)
Abu Huraira said "[...but are communities like you... (Al-An'am 6:38)] Allah will gather all the animals on the Day of Resurrection, the wild animals, the birds and everything and the scores among them will be settled. Then, when the judgement between them is finished, He (Allah) will say to them (the animals), "Be dust.'' So they will all become dust. Upon witnessing this disbeliever will say, [...'Woe to me! Would that I were dust!' (An-Naba 78:40)]" [Tafseer Abdur Razzaq (2/46) No. 786, Tafseer al-Tabari (11/347) No. 13222, Tafseer Ibn Katheer (3/255)]
Qurtubi says Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) will turn all animals into dust, the kuffar will wish on that day to be turned into dust like all the animals.
Evidence is in the hadith;
That says the evil deeds of Muslims will be taken from them and put on the scales of the kuffar (Unbelievers).
Narrated Abu Musa (RA) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, my Ummah (nation) will be gathered into three groups. one sort will enter Paradise without rendering an account (of their deeds). Another sort will be reckoned an easy account and admitted into Paradise Yet another sort will come bearing on his or her backs heaps of sins like great mountains. Allah will ask the angels though He knows best about them: Who are these people? They will reply: They are humble slaves of yours. He will say: Unload the sins from them and put the same over the Jews and Christians; then let the humble slaves get into Paradise by virtue of My Mercy. [Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/126) No. 193, Dhahabi mentions that this narration from Haakim is upon the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim]
That’s why Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ says it will be far from easy for the kuffar. Because when you lived with them, they oppressed you.
Why will this happen; they oppressed you in regard to your religion and spread the evil deeds.
O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, He surely will receive an easy reckoning, And will return to his family in joy! But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, He will invoke (his) destruction,And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. (Al-Inshiqaq 84:6-12)
Is another proof that it will be a hard day for the kuffar?
AYAH 11
ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا
Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! (Al-Muddaththir 74:11)
You are a loner, and your journey is from the womb to the tomb; you came here alone, and you will leave alone.
Abu Huraira (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: (1) A continuous charity, (2) knowledge by which people derive benefit, (3) pious son who prays for him." [Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari No. 38, Muslim (3/1255) No. 1631, Abu Dawud (3/117) No. 2880, al-Nasa'i (6/251) No. 3651, Tirmidhi (3/660) No. 1376, al-Darime (1/148) No. 559, Ahmad (2/372) No. 8831]
The hadith that says the two things will leave a person (Progeny and Wealth) and only his deeds go with him to the grave
AYAH 12
وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَمْدُودًا
And then granted him resources in abundance. (Al-Muddaththir 74:12)
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ says in 31:24
We let them enjoy for a little while, then in the end, We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment. (Luqman 31:24)
Allah lets them enjoy in the dunya for a while and then dump them in the hellfire forever
Allah granted Firawn, Nimrod, and Qaroon wealth but these people fought against the muwahidden
AYAH 13
وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا
And children to be by his side! (Al-Muddaththir 74:13)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) also gave them children. Wealth and children are mentioned many times in the Qur'an
Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world's life; but Allah has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers, etc.) with Him. (Al Imran 3:14)
The evidence is the surah 18:7
Verily! We have made that which is on earth as an adornment for it, in order that We may test them (mankind) as to which of them are best in deeds. [i.e. those who do good deeds in the most perfect manner, that means to do them (deeds) totally for Allah's sake and in accordance to the legal ways of the Prophet ﷺ]. (Al-Kahf 18:7)
Another evidence for wealth and children is in surah Al Kahf verse 46
Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of Allah's obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of Allah with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope. (Al-Kahf 18:46)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) says leave me alone with him who I created alone., I gave him wealth and children (like Firawn, Nimrood, Qaroon, Abu Jahl, and Abu Lahab).
These kuffar used their resources to fight against Islam and Muwahidden
When you have wealth and children, they massage your ego
AYAH 14
وَمَهَّدْتُ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا
And made life smooth and comfortable for him! (Al-Muddaththir 74:14)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) gave us comforts in the life, a/c in the car, best of groceries, travels first class,
After all that Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) says this person wants more verse: 15
AYAH 15
ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ
After all that he desires that I should give more; (Al-Muddaththir 74:15)
Noble Qur'an translation is not correct. it is (Yatmaauu) greed
and not desire
side point >> if you don't live with Arabs, you won’t learn the intricacies of the language.
A hadith comes to mind on reading verse 15.
In this world, people die from hunger and starvation, and they also die from obesity.

Some people are ungrateful and can’t even say words of graciousness if you give them charity.
They want more and more
This is the nature of man, and the one who has a small car, wants a bigger one.
The one who has a bigger one wants two
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) says even after I have given man so much, he wants more because nothing can fill the greed of bani Adam but dirt in his belly.
Ibn 'Abbas and Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "If a son of Adam were to own a valley full of gold, he would desire to have two. Nothing can fill his mouth except the earth (of the grave). Allah turns with mercy to him who turns to Him in repentance". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
AYAH 16
كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا
Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). (Al-Muddaththir 74:16)
Why is he opposing our signs when We gave him so much?
Why did Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) reveal surah Quraish
The Quraish had two trade caravans in the winter and summer.
But with all the commerce, Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) blessed them, they became ungrateful to Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) and did not thank Him.

And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily! Man is indeed an extreme wrongdoer, a disbeliever (an extreme ingrate, denies Allah's Blessings by disbelief, and by worshipping others besides Allah, and by disobeying Allah and His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). (Ibrahim 14:34)
This linked to surah 74, verse 14-15
Man is an ingrate, denies Allah's blessings by worshipping others besides Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)
Richard Dawkins became rich and famous by denying Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ)
What an evil man.
Surah 100 also talks about the ungratefulness of man, man is vicious, atrocious and unscrupulous in his greed for wealth.
Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. (Al-'Adiyat 100:6-8)
The author of the ' GOD ILLUSION' will have the book testify against him on Day of Judgment.
As-Saud = mountain in hellfire that is slippery
AYAH 17
سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا
I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hellfire called As¬ Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! (Al-Muddaththir 74:17)
AYAH 18
إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ
Verily, he thought and plotted (Al-Muddaththir 74:18)
So, who is He? The word he is Walid ibn Mugheerah
Why did he plot against the prophet? Why the malice?
AYAH 19
فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
So let him be cursed! How he plotted! (Al-Muddaththir 74:19)
AYAH 20
ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! (Al-Muddaththir 74:20)
AYAH 21
ثُمَّ نَظَرَ
Then he thought; (Al-Muddaththir 74:21)
AYAH 22
ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
Then he frowned and he looked in a bad-tempered way; (Al-Muddaththir 74:22)
AYAH 23
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ
Then he turned back and was proud; (Al-Muddaththir 74:23)
AYAH 24
فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ
Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; (Al-Muddaththir 74:24)
AYAH 25
إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ
"This is nothing but the word of a human being!" (Al-Muddaththir 74:25)
AYAH 26
سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ
I will cast him into Hell-fire (Al-Muddaththir 74:26)
What did Waleed Ibn Mughirah plot?
Saqar is a place in hell that you cannot get out of

Waleed ibn Mughirah suggested to the Quraish slandering the
Prophet
because every year in the pilgrimage, Muhammad (ﷺ) will call pilgrims to Islam, so let's call him a poet.
They said we won’t call him that, cause the poets don't practise what they preach.
They dumped that idea because Muhammad (ﷺ) was a walking Quran. They said let us call him a madman.
When a madman speaks, people don't want to listen to him, but people were captivated by the words of the prophet (ﷺ) and to the Quran.
So, they couldn't call him that either.
The RAND Foundation corporation, Waleed ibn mughirah (father of Khalid ibn waleed) suggested to call Muhammad (ﷺ) a magician and to discount the Quran as a word of the man
The Quraish agreed to call the Prophet a practitioner of magic and that his word is magic too.
why did Waleed Ibn Mughirah have malice, enemy and hatred for the prophet to the extent that Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) says he thought n plotters (verse18) an Allah cursed him twice(verse19-20), looked in a bad way (verse 22) (statement not clear)
The reason was that he was envious of the Prophet (ﷺ) and wanted to be the Prophet.
He was from Banu Makhzumm, a powerful clan, the custodian of the
Kabah.
He was rich as well.
They had malice because why did not Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) reveal His message to the two strong men from two strong cities
KAFIRS ARE DICTATORS, THEY EVEN WANNA TELL ALLAH WHO TO BLESS
And when the truth (this Qur'ān) came to them, they (the disbelievers in this Qur'ān) said: "This is magic, and we disbelieve therein." And they say: "Why is not this Qur'ān sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Tā'if)?" (Az-Zukhruf 43:30-31)
First man is Walid ibn Mugheerah = Makkah
Second man was Amr ibn Umayr = Taif
The kafirs want to tell Allah who to bless w Prophethood (ﷺ) they are so evil.
Neither those who disbelieve among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) nor Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, idolaters, polytheists, pagans, etc.) like that there should be sent down unto you any good from your Lord. But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. (Al-Baqarah 2:105)
The Prophet's (ﷺ) past was clean and had no bad record (baggage).
He was called as-sadiq and al-ameen even before the Prophet hood.
A Prophet can’t have any bad points from the past otherwise they will have baggage from the past to deliver the message of the Creator
You need to shut up and accept who Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) choose
Neither those who disbelieve among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) nor Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, idolaters, polytheists, pagans, etc.) like that there should be sent down unto you any good from your Lord. But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. (Al-Baqarah 2:105)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) knows best where to disburse his barakah.
